A) All candidates must appear for the Aptitude
Test on the date specified in the admission notice. Admission is
strictly on merit in the Aptitude Test in their respective
categories.
The aptitude test consists of written examination and personal
interview. After the written test, a list of candidates of Open
category qualified to appear for personal interviews and DTP
test will be displayed on the department's notice board. The no.
of candidates in this list will be up to three times the number
of seats available for the Open Category. All the candidates
from the Reserve Categories who appear for the written test will
be invited for interview and DTP test.
The test for admission seeks to assess candidate’s ability,
aptitude and media awareness. It consists of a written test (100
marks) and a personal interview (25 marks) The written test
consists of questions on composition (essay, précis,
comprehension/translation) carrying 50 marks, and questions on
current events, general knowledge, and media awareness carrying
50 marks. The personal interview is conducted by a panel of
three experts including the Head of the Department.
The DTP test shall consist of coping the content and format of
an A-4 size page given to the candidate at the time of test
using MS-Word/ PageMaker. Candidates will be given content to
type in the language chosen by them(English or Marathi) to
answer the written test of 100 marks. Candidates typing speed,
knowledge of formating and other processes (From creating a file
to printing will be assesed in this test.)
